Find a different job if you don't like the one you have right now?

I think a lot of people are stressing out because they're just in the wrong job. I was having trouble at home always exhausted and started to gain weight stopped working out, etc. I got along with most of my co-workers (except for a couple), but the work was unnecessarily complicated by an odd corporate structure or culture or whatever it was. I'm still trying to figure out why exactly, but it was difficult work and it gave me a lot of headaches. A lot of stress at work that just made my personal life less fulfilling too.

But a friend finally encouraged me to start looking for a new job. And I started feeling better just knowing I was going to leave the stress behind eventually. My friend told me to write my resignation letter in advance, and wow did that ever help. I wrote a letter and stored it on my hard drive at home knowing it was ready to send at a moments notice. And it just lifted a lot of the stress from work off my shoulders.

It took awhile to find a job, but I felt happier - and I think that helped me in interviews too!! Now I'm in a job doing more or less the same thing in a different company. Although I miss some of the people from the old job, I'm so much happier. The work isn't exactly easy, but it just feels like I'm getting more done and everyone is happier at the new job. When I tell some of my friends from my old job about it, they always ask me if I can put a good word in for them!

I really suggest people look for a different job if you're stressing out at work. Even if you don't know exactly why you're stressing out - that probably just means you're not in the right job. It worked for me, I think it could work for you too. Just my thoughts. It might not always be the solution, but it's worth a try.
